I’m Angelica. You might also know me as Juela or Jue. I was born and raised in Manila, Philippines, and I currently reside in Orange County, studying English and Psychology. Lingering in Doorways started as a hobby during the pandemic — it was a way to keep myself grounded in the midst of all the chaos. What began as daily diary entries to track my mental health became an unexpected lifeline during the most difficult time of my life — and in the years since, I’ve come to see it as more than a blog, but as a written record chronicling my early adulthood.

Since I made this blog public and started sharing my posts to my online community (aka my friends), so many of you have reached out to say how much my writing has moved and inspired you, or kept you company when you felt lost. This is my favorite part about writing. I think my goal has always been to make people feel a little less alone, and any indication that I’ve achieved that in some way is deeply cherished. Thank you for being here!
